Tyson

Wow, I can't believe Tyson is already going to be a week old tomorrow! Time sure does go by so fast. He will also be coming home from the hospital tomorrow and we are so excited. Here is a couple pictures of the day he was born.

I was pretty nervous about going into another C-section, mostly because I was scared I would have another experience of not being able to breath like I had at both Masons and the girls' birth. I am grateful that Troy and his Dad were able to give me a blessing the night before. I also am grateful for all the prayers being sent our way, I definitely felt strengthened by them.

I am all ready to go into surgery. Mason was able to come see me right before and thought my surgery hat was pretty funny, so we put one on him too.

Here is a pretty gross picture. A nurse just grabbed our camera and was snapping pictures. I really did not want to see this one but glad she got this because this is me seeing Tyson for the first time while they were sewing me up. Gross.

Weighing in at only 4 lbs and 13 oz. The doctors still don't know why he had IUGR (Intrauterine Growth Restricion). It could possibly have been a placental problem, but i don't think we will really ever know.

Tyson had a few breathing problems so they put him on oxygen and since he was going to have to be on oxygen all day they decided to send him up to the NICU.
Just before they sent him to the NICU they brought him to me for a few minutes so I could hold my baby for the first time. Katelyn, Kylie, and Mason think their new little brother is pretty darn cute.

We are definitely not strangers of the NICU. Katelyn and Kylie spent 5 weeks there. But that didn't make it any easier for me and didn't stop the tears from coming when I watched them put an I.V. in Tyson. They had to keep trying different spots because his veins kept collapsing and it was really hard for me to hear him cry and know that it was hurting him. It was also so hard to be discharged from the hospital and go home without my baby. Not feeling him inside me anymore and not being able to feel him in my arms gave me that exact empty feeling I felt that first time I left the girls at the hospital.

Tyson was able to get off his oxygen that very first day but since he was so small he didn't really want to eat so that his why they put an I.V. in him and they also gave him a feeding tube.
He also had some jaundice so he had the bilirubin lights and this little eye covering so the lights wouldn't hurt his eyes.

We are so grateful for our family and we were so happy to have Troy's parents here to spend a couple days with us, meet their new grandson, and also we appreciate all they did in taking care of our kids while we were in the hospital. I am now so grateful that my mom is here and all she is doing to take care of us.

Hey little buddy, we are so excited for you to come home tomorrow!
