First off, thanks Michelle, for being my photographer once again. She took most of these pictures. And then once again I stole them from her.
Beautiful Arizona.
Beautiful and warm and dry Arizona.
3 and a half weeks ago we went on an amazing adventure/vacation.
Troy's little brother Jared got married in the Mesa Temple and we couldn't bear the thought of missing it. He has visited us a couple times in Iowa and all of us sure do love him a lot. So at first we thought Troy should just go, and then we thought me and Tyson should go, and then we finally just concluded that, what the heck, we should all go. How could we miss it?
So yes, Troy and I took our 4 kids ages 5 and under on an airplane and flew to Phoenix, Arizona.
So glad we did!
I really did think that Arizona was beautiful. So opposite from green and humid Iowa. Both are really pretty in their own ways.
The night before the wedding we were also able to go to the Mesa Easter Pageant which was so neat to see. I really enjoyed watching Katelyn watching it and answering her questions about what was going on. Mason was obsessed with the Airplanes flying over us, and Kylie fell asleep in Kinzie's lap.
Jared married a beautiful and amazing girl named Chelsea. Troy and I first met her the night before the wedding! But we definitely agree that she is perfect for Jared. And we look forward to getting to know her better!
My 4 beautiful kids. I never thought I would have 4 kids by the time I was 25, but I wouldn't change how my life has gone for anything else.
Getting to Arizona was a little bit crazy.
Our flight was at 6:00 in the morning. So we were all just a little bit tired dragging ourselves out the door and driving to the airport. But don't worry we were woken up real quick when we hit a deer going 70 mph. We pulled into the airport with our van smoking and stinking. Thank goodness insurance covered it because the cost to fix it was just about as much as we paid for the van. We got back from our tip our van then took 2 1/2 weeks to get fixed! So even though we are grateful that we have a car too we couldn't fit all 4 kids in it. We are thankful for our friends who helped me out so much in getting us around.
The other craziness was trying to get through the airport, check in, and security with all of us. Lots of people gave us some strange looks and must have thought Troy and I were crazy. We did almost miss our flights. Twice. But once we made it on the planes, the kids did awesome. Well, Katelyn did get sick and threw up 3 times on our first flight, but didn't cry or complain at all. She just took a nap and I took a picture of her puking.
It was fun to be with the entire Fowler family.
We went swimming a lot and Katelyn and Kylie learned how to do flips into the swimming pool.
We also went to the Zoo.
Good thing Grandpa was with us so he could pull the Turtle out of the water for his Grandkids to touch. What an awesome Grandpa.
With Cody and Kinzie! |
It was great but one of the best parts was coming home back to Iowa and walking into my house and realizing that our friends Amy and Andy Evans (who drove us to the airport and who we left our keys with and who do so much for us anyways) had deep cleaned our entire apartment. It was amazingly clean and felt so good. They even washed all of our towels and everyone's bedding and left candy on the bed. Seriously amazing people.
