Memorial Day

Yesterday we spent Memorial Day in 3 different states.
We went to a yummy breakfast provided by our ward here in Iowa.
Then we traveled to Missouri to visit some church history sites.
We crossed the Missouri River and entered Kansas to go to a Science Center that was free for us because of our membership to the science center here.

Adam-Ondi-Ahman
This is where we stopped for lunch and even though there wasn't much here, it was so beautiful and peaceful and was my favorite part of the day.

At the LDS visitor's Center in Independence, MO
The saints spent two years in Independence. They received so much persecution while living in Missouri.

The Community of Christ's temple right across the street from the Visitor's Center

Liberty Jail
This was another very spiritual place for us to visit. This jail was so small and dark and it is crazy to think that Joseph Smith and 4 other men spent 5 winter months here. Joseph Smith received 3 revelations here that are in the Doctrine and Covenants now.
The Beautiful Kansas City, MO Temple
The open house will be this Fall and it will be dedicated next spring.
