What Makes Us Happy

We have been happy.
Life is good and as we have settled into this new Colorado life
we have felt happy and at home. I can't really explain it but it just feels good and makes us happy.

And it must be something about moving to a new place and all you have is each other, but it sure does make our little family a lot closer to each other.
And it is all those little, simple moments that are perfect that helps us get through all of the many hard things.

The week Troy was gone for a conference in Las Vegas, we were able to watch Sammy.
Sammy, the most well behaved dog I have ever met.

His owner brought him over late the night before and it was definitely better than Christmas morning when the kids woke up and I told them to go look in the back yard.
They were so excited and the entire week they were the happiest kids ever.
They loved Sammy.
He never barked, never jumped up on you, was super gentle and not pushy at all.  And was so patient with the kids and played with them all day.

Watching a movie together. This dog loved watching movies as much as the kids do.

It was sad to see him go. Mason kept asking for Sammy over and over.  We think it might be fun for Santa Claus to bring a puppy for Christmas.  We will see, Santa isn't making any promises.

The kids  love any little moment when they can see their dad.  They especially love to be thrown up in the air and with our vaulted ceilings they go pretty high!

I had fun going on our school shopping trip with the girls. Something I want to make into a tradition with these two.
Katelyn and Kylie may not be the the girliest of girls.
They would rather watch Spiderman or an animal show over any princess movie.
Instead of Barbies and dolls, they like to play sports or pretend like they are pet store owners or zookeepers. And they like to go fishing more than any little girl I have known.
But these two are definitely girls all the way through.
They can't ever get enough finger nail polish and love to paint their nails often.
They love jewelry and purses, lip gloss, pink, skirts, sparkly things, and like to get into my makeup. And they love it when their Dad tells them they look pretty.
They are so fun to take shopping with me and all three of us love Hobby Lobby.  It is so fun to see them ooh and aah just like me over the cute house decorations and craft stuff. And they are definitely my daughters when they say, "Ooh I like this fabric, it is so pretty!"  It is going to be so fun to have little craft partners.

We love to get ice cream cones at McDonalds and Tyson especially loves that he is big enough to hold his own.

We were able to see Cody at the Denver airport!
He was flying out to Philadelphia and had a 6 hour layover in Denver so we went to see him and took him to eat and hang out with him for a few hours.  Cody is going to Pennsylvania for PA school. Kinzie is driving out a week later.  It was so good to see him and know that he will do awesome in school and we are proud of him!
